Join Cast a Thought CIC and spend some time experiencing the benefits of angling on mental health and wellbeing. With 3 hours of fishing followed by 1 hour enjoying refreshments and having a chat.

A fun one-hour session for SPRING clients to increase their wellbeing by exercising and dancing their way through a Wednesday. Booked through Spring Social Prescribing Link Worker.

Newcastle GP Services - The North East's biggest social prescribing team out and about in Newcastle on Social Prescribing Day! 19th March 9am - 1pm across Newcastle upon Tyne

Newcastle GP Services (NGPS) have the largest social prescribing team in the Northeast, and to celebrate Social Prescribing Day will be visiting 17 different voluntary sector, community and charity organisations across the city, to hear more about the work that these vital organisations do to help our communities, and to explain more about social prescribing.

Pop online and discover what health and wellbeing resources and support programmes are available, through the University of Edinburgh Library and University Collections, to both the campus and the wider local community. You will hear about Prescribe Culture, the Library Service’s Wellbeing Collection and Leisure Reading Library and the Makerspace. Importantly you will hear from some of our Prescribe Culture referral partners in the Wellbeing Team and the Richard Verney Health Centre, as well as hearing how joining Prescribe Culture has impacted the individual members. Julze Alejandre is a doctoral researcher and is currently developing Scotland’s first Blue-Green Prescribing Programme for Primary Mental Healthcare using blue social prescribing and eco-directed prescribing of antidepressants. Ellen McGarity-Shipley is an Assistant Professor at Dalhousie University in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Join Ellen as she's takes us through her involvement in the Canadian social prescribing movement including how she became passionate about it, how she co-founded a regional social prescribing initiative in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, her experiences co-leading the Canadian Social Prescribing Student Collective, and her hopes for the future of social prescribing.
