NASP welcomes our new Student Champions: Kirstie Goodchild, Alexandra Tan and Naabil Khan.
The Student Champions Scheme has been running for 7 years, during this time 782 student champions from 87 universities have delivered 1,500 peer-teaching sessions. The scheme has successfully facilitated the integration of social prescribing into medical school curricula, organised three impactful national conferences and launched the world’s first Social Prescribing Day in 2018. Meet our Student Champions
We warmly welcome our 2024 - 2025 Social Prescribing Student Champions.
Kirstie Goodchild, Student Champion Evidence Lead (Occupational Therapy Graduate)
Kirstie Goodchild, a University of Cambridge graduate with a first-class degree in Biological Natural Sciences (Psychology, Neuroscience, and Behaviour), and graduate in Occupational Therapy at the University of East Anglia. In addition to her academic pursuits, Kirstie serves as the evidence lead for the Social Prescribing Student.
Alexandra Tan, Student Champion Social Media Lead (Medical Student)
Alexandra Tan is a medical student in her penultimate year at Imperial College London and holds a First Class intercalated BSc from UCL in Clinical Sciences. She is passionate about women’s health, medical technologies, and their applications in surgery, having presented her work at international conferences. Beyond her academic pursuits, she works part-time with startups and surgical technology companies, contributing to advancements in healthcare innovation.
Naabil Khan, Student Champion Global Lead (Medical Student)
Naabil Khan, an award-winning medical student at Exeter University, is the creator of the podcast 'Very Junior Doctors' and founder of the website Skin For All. Naabil is committed to amplifying diverse voices and promoting inclusivity in medicine. Her work to promote representation and diversity in medicine has been showcased in media outlets such as the BBC, The Independent, and UK AID NAM.
Our new cohort of Student Champions will continue to work alongside NASP, supporting awareness and advocacy for social prescribing amongst future health workers.
