Event overview

Social Prescribing Link Workers are enabling holistic, person-centred and proactive care across the country. They are core members of integrated health teams and can play a crucial role in shifting care from hospitals to communities and from treatment to prevention.

We know that link workers are highly motivated. Yet, findings from our 2025 National Social Prescribing Link Workers Survey highlight that many remain unsure where to access training, experience inconsistent supervision, and see limited opportunities for career progression.

That is why we worked with partners to develop the first ever Training Roadmap for link workers. This roadmap is designed to:

  • Support link workers to feel confident and capable in their role
  • Guide employers on training requirements and best practice
  • Build on NHS England's core competencies framework
  • Bring together national and local training providers to make learning and CPD more consistent and accessible.

Join us for this webinar where we will explore:

  • The importance of robust training, and what this looks like
  • How national, regional and local providers are coordinating to deliver training opportunities
  • Examples of career progression opportunities
  • What skills are essential to the success of the role

By attending the webinar, link workers, managers and employers will get increased understanding of current training recommendations, and find out how to use our training roadmap. They will also hear from a social prescribing manager about how to support their team, and hear about wider development opportunities within the profession.

The Training Roadmap was developed in partnership with Royal Society of Public Health, Connexus, Social Prescribing Network, We do Wellbeing and our Link Worker Advisory Group
