Professor Dame Helen Stokes-Lampard has accepted a new role as National Chief Medical Officer at Health New Zealand / Te Whatu Ora, starting in October 2024. This means that she will be standing down from her role as Chair of NASP’s Trustees later this year.
Charlotte Osborn-Forde, Chief Executive of NASP, said: “We are incredibly grateful to Helen for her dynamic, compassionate leadership of NASP since our foundation in 2019. We will hugely miss her expertise, guidance and ambition – but we are delighted that she is starting such an exciting role and wish her the very best for the future.”
Helen Stokes-Lampard said: “I am so proud of what NASP has achieved in the past five years, and despite my great sadness at leaving, I will never lose contact with the superb team we have built here. I am excited and energised by the opportunities that the healthcare system in New Zealand is offering me and I hope to be able exchange ideas with them about the wider landscape of health and wellbeing, which will complement great work they are already doing. I sincerely hope that this move will enhance NASP’s work globally and help foster many new connections that will benefit both the UK and New Zealand.”
Recruitment for a new Chair of Trustees will begin in the coming months. Jonathan Badyal, Director of Communications at Universal Music UK and one of our current trustees, will be our interim Chair from October 2024.
