NASP's Strategic Forum for Neighbourhood Health and Social Prescribing convenes strategic leaders and commissioners across health, care, public health and the VCFSE sector to shape, strengthen and champion social prescribing as a core element of neighbourhood health.
It provides a collaborative space for shared learning, strategic discussion, and collective action, helping to shape the future of social prescribing through neighbourhood health models.
Members of the Strategic Forum will:

Receive regular updates on key social prescribing insights and developments,

Help shape and champion the role of social prescribing as a key mechanism of delivering neighbourhood health

Access and contribute to shared learning, evidence and examples of good practice relating to the integration of social prescribing within neighbourhood health models

Stay informed about emerging policy, guidance and practice relevant to social prescribing and neighbourhood health approaches

Learn from successful models of commissioning, service development, and investment approaches for social prescribing expansion across diverse settings

Explore innovative approaches to outcome measurement and demonstrating value, aligned with the ambitions of the NHS 10 Year Plan

Identify opportunities for innovation and improvement to further embed social prescribing across a variety of health, care and community settings, particularly in addressing health inequalities
Membership 
Membership is open to individuals with a strategic leadership, planning, commissioning or system development role in relation to social prescribing, neighbourhood health and prevention. This may include roles whose responsibility it is to shape policy, strategy, service models, partnership approaches or investment models - rather than operational delivery. This may include representatives from:

Integrated Care Board (ICB) commissioners or programme leads (e.g. personalised care, neighbourhood health, prevention, population health, primary care, transformation, health inequalities)

Local authority public health professionals (e.g. public health commissioner, strategic programme lead)
-
Primary care and Primary Care Network strategic leads involved in decision making for neighbourhood health planning

Secondary care leaders responsible for community partnerships, neighbourhood working, or hospital-based social prescribing
-
Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise (VCFSE) strategic leaders involved in system partnerships & social prescribing
-
NHS provider organisations responsible for prevention, population health, community partnerships or neighbourhood models of care
-
Regional and national partners with responsibility for social prescribing, personalised care or health inequalities.
Meetings 
Meetings are held quarterly, held online via Microsoft Teams and chaired by Charlotte Osborn-Forde, Chief Executive of NASP.
Our first meeting will take place on Wednesday September 23, 2:30PM – 4:00PM.
