Event overview
How can physical activity organisations better support children and young people through social prescribing, and what might this mean for the activities and opportunities they provide?
Movement can play an important role in supporting children and young people's physical and mental wellbeing, confidence and connection to their communities. But accessing opportunities to move isn't always straightforward, and the right support will look different for every young person.
Our third Movement on Prescription webinar will explore approaches to children and young people's (CYP) social prescribing and how the physical activity sector can develop more inclusive, accessible and responsive opportunities for young people.
Designed primarily for Active Partnerships, physical activity providers and those working with children and young people, this session will also be relevant to those involved in CYP social prescribing more widely.
We'll explore:
-
What CYP social prescribing looks like and how physical activity can contribute to supporting young people's health and wellbeing.
-
Understanding the needs, experiences and barriers that can influence a young person's ability or confidence to take part in physical activity.
-
Practical ways organisations can adapt their activities, accessibility and support to better meet the needs of children and young people.
-
The relationships and local pathways needed to help connect young people with appropriate physical activity opportunities.
Through practical examples and shared learning, the session will equip physical activity organisations with a better understanding of CYP social prescribing and how they can strengthen their own offer to support young people referred through these pathways.
Join us to explore how your organisation can make movement more accessible, meaningful and welcoming for children and young people.
