Launching the Link Worker Advisory Group
Social Prescribing Link Workers are essential in supporting people in communities by taking a holistic and ‘what matters to you’ approach to address health and wellbeing. If you are a link worker, we want to learn from your expertise.
Last year we piloted our first ever Link Worker Advisory Group (LWAG). A small group of link workers met on an ad hoc basis to discuss issues at a local level. These discussions led to the development of our co-produced Link Worker Induction Guide.
Based on the success of this pilot, We are excited to announce that we are launching our official Link Worker Advisory Group.
The group will advise NASP when designing, implementing and developing work by providing grassroots perspectives and feedback. Link workers will bring their skills, knowledge, expertise and guidance to support our work and strategy. They will work closely with our Healthcare Integration team, while advising across our work and programmes to ensure that link workers voices are represented throughout.
This is a voluntary role until March 2025. However, there may be possible paid opportunities.
What we are looking for
- Expert link workers, with a minimum of 1-2 years experience, who is interested in using their expert knowledge and experience to advise a variety of projects and innovations at NASP.
- Passionate and dedicated individuals from across the country. We welcome applicants who are generalist, or in a specialist role such as children and young people, or have a condition-specific focus, such as on mental health or diabetes.
- Someone with a thorough understanding of the benefits of social prescribing in a variety of settings, particularly within healthcare and NHS.
- People who have experience and confidence advocating and implementing social prescribing within clinical settings, and are able to effectively demonstrate how social prescribing has supported their PCN or local setting to address health inequalities or improve access to healthcare.
Please note, there is a minimum requirement of 1-2 meetings (1 hour) per month.

Please apply by 1st November 2023 (although note that we reserve the right to close applications early). We will be in touch in mid-late November if you have been successful.
We will be looking to have our first meeting in late November/ early December 2023. The group will operate until March 2025.
