As a Social Prescribing Champion, you will:
- Champion and promote the role of social prescribing in supporting people’s health and wellbeing
- Raise awareness and build understanding of social prescribing within your workplace, workforce, locality & region.
- Advocate, promote and share the work of NASP, and other helpful resources with your networks and other Champions.
- Support a collaborative, whole system approach to social prescribing.
- Feedback any local initiatives, case studies & exemplars of social prescribing practice in your area.
- Commit to a core set of values.
As a Champion, you will have the opportunity to contribute towards NASP's work, influence change, lead locally, and grow professionally.

Who can be a NASP Social Prescribing Champion?
NASP Social Prescribing Champions are healthcare professionals or other non-clinical roles working in healthcare settings The role of a Social Prescribing Champion is intended to be non-onerous and complimentary to one’s professional duties. You could be a:
- GP, Surgeon, or Consultant Physician
- Allied Healthcare Professional
- Nurse
- Pharmacist
- Paramedic
- Medical Student on Placement
- Practice Manager
- Clinical Director
- Administrator
- Clinical Educator or Lecturer
- Social Prescribing Link Worker
- Health & Wellbeing Coach
- Care Coordinator
- Health Commissioner
- Local Authority or ICB Leadership
If you don’t relate to any of the above but are qualified to provide healthcare services to patients or work in a healthcare setting, we still encourage you to apply to become a champion, as long as you have a professional email address.
