Hi, I’m Martin Longley and work for Natural England (www.naturalengland.org.uk). I’m interested to hear about nature-based activities and providers that are currently engaged with green social prescribing in the South West region. Also keen to hear from new groups who are looking to set-up nature-related projects and who could offer a social prescription. martin.longley@naturalengland.org.uk

      Hi Martin,
Appologies I’m new to this site however my college Lynne isn’t and has introduced me to here.
A little bit about me – I am a trustee of Blackdog Outdoors, we are a registered charity and our aim is to re connect or introduce those to the outdoors with poor mental health. I’m a qualified summer mountain guide in the uk, with various other qualifications connected with the outdoor indusrty and have my MHFA. We provide various outdoor activites and started with the prescribing links last year, we are trying to build our connections in providing well being activities…we have a few programs set up already where we are including local instructors and building sustainability for them to increase confidence and knowledge to carry on the program after they have completed.

We have been be in connection with Active forest and have permission to use various sites, we are also in connection with the Bluelight project, hoping to offer them much needed support all over the UK. We are also doing prescribed activities so far in the North east and hoping to in the north west, just confirming with those currently. Just wondering if we can help you in some way?

Hi Martin. It’s great to have you on the Network! Do you want to post something in the SW regional forum as well to get the conversation started there?
